We are glad that you have taken an interest in Hope Reformed Baptist Church (HRBC). Perhaps you are already familiar with confessional Reformed Baptist churches, in which case, we want to invite you to join us and increase our witness in this area. But if you’re like most of us who now attend HRBC, you did not come from a Reformed Baptist church. Obviously, we don’t know the reason for your interest, but we do know why most seek us out – Word and worship.
Time and again, we hear folks saying they want to learn the Bible. Some churches gear their worship services to the “unchurched” and leave believers starving to be fed. It’s explained to them that they should join a small group if they really want to grow, but rarely is the Bible taught. At HRBC, the Word of God is preached and biblical doctrine is taught so that believers and unbelievers can hear the truth. They learn that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is one story of God’s plan of redemption.
We also hear people sadly talk about the changes that have taken place in the worship of other churches. They often sense that it has become increasingly man-centered entertainment and they long for worship that is honoring to God. At HRBC, we have a high view of worship because we believe that God calls His people to enter into His presence in worship, and He has told us in His Word how we are to worship in order to please Him. So we take a serious approach to the joyful worship of God in all reverence and godly fear.
So people come with a desire to learn the Bible and to worship God, but they stay because of the love that we have for one another. We are a diverse group of people with different backgrounds, personalities, and lives. But we are united in the gospel by one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. And based on our unity in the body of Christ, we strive to love our brothers and sisters in the church through very practical ways, including benevolent giving, acts of service, frequent encouragement, and corporate prayer.
So if you are tired of self-improvement messages, hungry for teaching that isn’t trivial, sick of entertainment in worship, burned out on programs and activities; and, instead, want preaching that declares the Good News, teaching that is theologically rich, worship that is honoring to God, and fellowship that is genuinely loving and family oriented, then Hope Reformed Baptist Church may just be the place for you. You and your family are very welcome.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Members of Hope Reformed Baptist Church
